If your home is not yet decked out with all things Easter, don’t panic! The fabulously crafty Sarah Cawood is here with an Easter crafting project that will not only enable you to create your own eye-catching Easter decorations, but it’s a great way to keep the kids busy for an afternoon or two in the Easter holidays too! Check out her step-by-step decorated eggs project below, and take a deep breath… you’ll need it!
Sarah Cawood’s Decorated Eggs Easter Project:
I LOVE Easter. I love the promise of warmer times to come, I love dotting Easter decorations around the house to herald the arrival of Spring. Oh and I LOVE chocolate! It’s also a season ripe for crafting. Just have a quick look around any crafty emporium and there are LOADS of Easter projects on offer. You just have to find the time to do them!
I’ve been wanting to have a go at blowing eggs for a while because I think they look really effective when they’re all decorated up, and I love the idea that I’ve used real eggs (those polystyrene ones you can buy just don’t cut it for me, and don’t even get me started on the environmental impacts…)
You Will Need:
Well, it turns out it’s easier than you’d think. I did six eggs and I didn’t break one! The decoupage process makes them less fragile than you’d think they would be, and I think they’re just gorgeous. Plus, you can decorate them however you please to co-ordinate with your home décor!
You don’t need to hang them if you don’t want to; they would look equally lush arranged in a bowl on your Easter table.
Have fun everyone and HOPPY EASTER! (soz, couldn’t resist!)
Love, La Cawood.
